Sophie was active and happy almost to the end (she chased a squirrel on Monday and a rabbit on Thursday!) and for the last month was able to spend almost all her time with her mom.

What a beautiful girl! I'm sorry for the loss of her spirit in this world but I know that she is running and flying on the other side of the bridge. You are all in my thoughts and heart.

So sad to see this post. Sweet Sophie. She was just a couple of months younger than Penny,also a red golden, whom I lost in Oct under similar circumstances. Too young. What gives comfort is knowing they were loved and cared for their whole lives, lived happy moments as much as was possible, and most importantly, were able to leave with dignity and comfort. Our deepest condolences to her family.

Karen was so extraordinarily kind to me when I had to say my goodbye to my Sadie several years ago. Her excellent care gave Sadie l 1/2years of quality time while she fought her own battle with cancer. I am sorry for your loss, Karen, and I know, although Sophie's life was cut short, she could not have had more love or better care than with you.
