Sophie's not only made friends, but has everyone there wrapped around her paw. When Karen took her out for a break yesterday after her exam & tests, even the front desk receptionist knew and greeted her. Sophie, of course, wiggled and squinted in response.
The test and exam results yesterday were not so good - Sophie's spleen doesn't look normal and there's a nodule on her liver. Since she's a middle-aged golden, realistically that makes them think cancer, possibly a hemangiosarcoma. On the other hand, it could still all be benign. They just can't know yet.
On the good side, Sophie's wolfing down her food again, her blood count is up to 3/4 of normal (it was down to 1/2), she's feeling better, and (of course) everyone loves her. She has a whole team of great doctors caring for her. And she has the power of the paw!!
Thanks for all your thoughts and well-wishes! Karen and Sophie and we here all appreciate them -- more than you can know.

It's good to read an update--Know that we continue to keep her in our prayers that she'll regain her health!
Woof! Woof! Sending Golden Thoughts to Sophie. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Poor Sophie! Paws are crossed and glad to hear she is at least eating again. Please keep us posted. Moose's lady Friend swissie seems to have a huge tumor on her spleen but they are not going to do any testing because of her age and she is really barely able to walk so they would not do surgery on her anyway since she would likely spend the rest of her life recovering :-( Very different prognosis for a middle aged otherwise healthy girl though and paws crossed she only needs her spleen removed. I can only imagine how her family must be feeling with her away at hospital for so long.
