Cherry time

Last year it was a mystery, but this year I knew that mid-late July would find Charlie out grazing. There is a massive cherry tree in the yard behind ours, and towards the end of July, it's crop of cherries begins to rain down.
This is heaven to Charlie, being so food-oriented! The cherries have dried on the tree to a perfect chewey gooey consistency, and Charlie can't believe his good fortune when he finds the terraces and yard covered with them. He runs to that corner and gobbles them down as quickly as possible.

Only the prospect of being hand-fed can induce him to take a break. Albeit, a short one.

Do they have.... side effects???

Fortunately, the only side effects seem to be a preponderance of pits and stems in his poop. Charlie seems to have a cast iron constitution!

Hi, Charlie.
Those cherries look yummy! I was thinking if they could hurt your tummy but reading the comments I can see they don't!
Have a good night

Dakota ate a pear a few weeks ago, and she was happy as a clam. The moms weren't so happy the next day when she threw up 16 times.

Dakota would like to help you eat the cherries, though.

Hmmm, not sure about cherries but do they taste delicious like red meat? My mommy's crrraaaazziiiee over those stuff & if she finds any on her cakes, she'll eat those first & the cake she eats last.

Hi Charlie

I love cherries too. In fact I love all food. Mum has had me on a diet .. well, trying anyway .. I've only put on 2kgs !!

Re the kangaroos, I'd love to chase them, but my mum won't let me. Beau jumped out of the car window one day when he saw a bush pheasant, and you'll never guess who's come to live with us .. a bush pheasant.

Love from Hammer

Wow, it's like manna from heaven! You are sooooooo lucky, Charlie. I ate a crabapple once on our walk around the neighborhood. When I got home, I threw up four times....so now my Mom won't let me eat any more fruit from the ground.
