Charlie Loves to Sing

I know when it happened, but I'm not quite sure how. We had been watching the British series "Upstairs Downstairs," and I guess started singing "What are we going to do with Uncle Arthur," but of course changed to "What are we going to do with Baby Charlie." And the next thing we knew, Charlie was singing along. Every night. Like clockwork.

Well, now we've finished "Upstairs Downstairs." And "The Forsyte Saga." And "I Claudius." And "The Duchess of Duke Street." And now we're on "The Jewel in the Crown." So the songs change, but one thing remains the same. At the end of each episode, Charlie still demands we sing.

Rainy Day Play

Summer is beginning to wind down, and it's been cool and drizzly the past couple of days. Makes me want to stay indoors and read, but not Charlie and Gabbie. It really revs them up and makes them want to PLAY!

Charlie, the Amazing Water Dog

Ok, that's a joke. Charlie isn't really a water dog, yet. Mea culpa, since most of our water opportunities come on vacation, where there's no good way to clean him up. And when he's stinky and wet, I don't really want him inside the RV.

So this is Charlie's biggest water experience to-date, and I think it went well. He was a little shy at first (because that's how he is about everything), but pretty quickly he waded in and seemed to have fun walking around, sniffing rocks and water plants. Even more so when I went wading with him.

I guess he was proud of himself, too, because even when he went in just enough to barely get his feet wet, he'd come back up on shore and shake like he'd been totally soaked. What a goof ball!

Pretty tame stuff next to some of you swimming pups. But I guess you've gotta start somewhere.
